When I've come in on weekdays, there seem to be much fewer associates on the floor so I'm not getting bombarded with "Do you need any help?", but on the flipside of that, it does make it harder to find someone if I *do* need help.
When checking out, no matter what day it is, there only seems to be one register regularly open. Only when the line for this register backs up to 6+ people deep do they call for additional cashiers to assist. And then once the line gets down, the additional registers close and they're back down to one register being open.
Service, on the other hand, can be a mixed bag depending on the day you go in. I've come in here on weekends and there might be quite a few associates working the floor, and everyone of them will ask if you need any assistance. Sometimes the same associate will ask you a few times throughout your visit. On one hand that's good that these folks are available should I need any help, but I don't need to be "hounded" constantly.
This is a decent, big-box store for buying the big-label pet food and other pet supplies. I have not used PetSmart for any of their other services such as grooming or veterinary services so I can't speak to those.
This is a bad review but I know if I put one star no one would see it. I came in yesterday to adopt a kitten with my friend. The very first time they told me no one was here for me to fill out an adoption paper. I came the next day and they let me. I spoke to a guy and he was very nice and helpful and told me I could place my kitten I wanted on hold. I told him I would be here at 12pm they very next day to finish the adoption. I came here a half hour early and waited for 20 minutes to be told my appointment was made for 4pm which I have work at 3pm and made it very clear yesterday I would be here by 12. We'll they moved my appointment to 12:30. And it's now 12:56 and after being told only 5 more minutes 5 different times. Guess what. I'm sill here. -5stars. Don't adopt here. The kittens and cat are treated horribly and left in the cage 24/7 with no way of exercise. Oh and being told the adoption fee is 150 I now am paying 160 for waiting 30 extra minutes ):
As far as the store goes, like stated, it's decent. The selection is pretty good for what they offer and prices seem to be reasonable.
A horrific experience happened to me at LCAR's Puppypalooza at the Annapolis Petsmart on Saturday Oct 7th at 6 a.m. while waiting our turn in line. In the blink of an eye the only pup we came for (and were preapproved for) was no longer available to us.. rug pulled from under by the Petsmart mgr Tami. This travesty occured 5 hours before the Last Chance Rescue event was scheduled to begin/3 hours before Petsmart would even open their doors!! ..all because Tami 'worked the line' at 6:00am playing a nasty discrimination game with numbers.. giving the person who'd just arrived our spot in line!! (This person arrived hours AFTER us wanting the same pup *No one before us wanted the same pup as we'd all discovered during our middle of the night conversation) Tami literally switched us with the latecomer deliberately so we would lose our pup! The Rescue later supported us.. saying what Tami did was gross mishandling (undermining policy by instituting her own rules!) LCAR's letter stated.. bring with you your application and preapproval printed out. Stay in line IN THE ORDER YOU LINED UP when you arrived (which my husband did) and to sign in (in that order) when Petsmart opens (at 9 am)! We never got to do that! In shock, confusion and disbelief (preapproved paperwork/congratulatory letter in hand) we went home. This was an egregious transgression and injustice. After reading several earlier google reviews right here about Tami's dispicable behavior i see we were yet another casualty of this Petsmart manager's manipulation. One google user review from 5 years ago pleads (in the last paragraph) for Last Chance to please stop partnering with Annapolis Petsmart due to Tami's rude and unkind behavior. WoW! 5 yrs ago and still swept under the rug!! Unfortunately Tami steered the course of our adoption to take a very wrong and dark turn. Her discriminatory actions against my husband put the pup in the hands of the incorrect party. No blessing with that!! LCAR rep says they will take remedial action to prevent future grief.. we'll see.
This place is awesome! Went for the grooming department and they were great! They were honest and did a great job. Dealt with the cashier and he was also great! He helped me get the best deals.
Ordered online for store pick up and saved 10%. Order was ready in about 20 minutes. Great job Annapolis PetSmart!
