I go here because I am 9 and my friend said that too on google she is 9 too. But my teacher stole our erasers. Everyone's! I think i want to be home schooled now.

My final thought is to point out undoubtedly the greatest weaknesses at Cape Saint Claire Elementary School, which is none other than Mrs. Jinni Myers. She's an administrative secretary with the disposition of a bridge troll. For over 20 years now, this women has been allowed to work in a position that requires her to interact with the public. Mrs. Myers is brusque on her best day and extremely rude on most days... I've tried everything from being nice, even overly nice to being abrupt myself. She always seems to be bothered by even the simplest requests from parents. Mrs. Myers goes out of her way to make children and parents alike feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Why she continues to be employed as the face of Cape Saint Claire Elementary School is at the very root of the school's problems... I mean if you don't like people, feel the need to be rude and generally perform poorly at your job; how do you keep it? Outside of this imaginary bubble we call Anne Arundel County employees; in the real world if you're terrible at your job, you typically get fired. Oh that's right... we don't need to try our best, just participating is enough!

I got bullied by my teachers.

I can't even begin to speak regarding the travesty they call a Special Education Department! Again, Cape Saint Claire Elementary has several truly amazing special educators on staff but they're enslaved to limited budgets, legally bound to put Anne Arundel County's needs in-front of our children's and take a one size fits all approach to teaching special needs children rather than reaching the simple conclusion that these kids are different puzzles to be solved not babysat.

I have two boys 10 and 12, who've spent a combined 7 years at Cape Saint Claire Elementary School. Of my two children, one is extremely advanced and the other has several intellectual disabilities. Having two children on opposite sides of the spectrum has provided me with a unique perspective to say the least.

All in all, it's a good school if your child's intellect lies squarely in the middle. The vast majority of teachers are extremely dedicated, energetic, friendly and very clearly care about the children. I'd even go so far as to say the teachers at CSCES are definitely the school's number one asset! Without going to deep down the proverbial rabbit hole, it is painfully obvious that those same teachers are equally as frustrated as the parents with the school's administration and county's endless bureaucracy.

Like many of our public schools, Cape Saint Claire Elementary utterly fails in their fiduciary duty to nurture, embrace, cultivate and challenge the young minds of our next generation. Again, I'd like to stress this is not a dig towards the teachers who are indubitably bound by the county curriculum that's unmistakably intended to have our children regurgitate simple facts to produce great state test scores rather than teach children to be inventive problem solvers who think for themselves. The diminishment of the intellectual level of content currently being taught in our school is nothing short of an embarrassment! They've take out all novels, only teaching CliffsNotes versions now. Gone are the days of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place achievements, only to be replaced by participation ribbons... Are we really going to create an entire generation that believes you need not try your best, just participating is enough?

Day 1 of a new school year - nothing like dealing with RUDE Mrs. Meyers at the front office - guess some things never change - CSC needs to replace her - That lady has been mad at the world for the last 8 years we have known her - Get friendlier office staff!!

Love this school. And please don't bash people on social media. These ladies work hard.
