When our dog passed away suddenly in May, we decided to return to Lasting Tributes for our cremation needs. They had been very good when our cat died the previous year so it seemed a good idea. This time, the experience wasn't as good due to the actions of 2 employees.
We spoke with one of the owners, Ryan, about our concerns. He has been very caring & compassionate. He also went above & beyond to make things right. We definitely will return to Lasting Tributes for future needs & recommend them to others.
My brother passed away and arrangements had to be made. Friends told us about Lasting Tributes. I called them in the middle of the night and talked to Vince one of the staff he was amazing and continued to be throughout the planning of my brother's service. I would also like to acknowledge Allie who was also excellent at working with to prepare programs for the service. I recommend highly Lasting Tributes to assist anyone with funeral and cremation arrangements for their love ones. Vince, Allie, Ken, Ryan and all of the staff members, right down to the on call service operators made this most difficult time much easier.
I am writing this review to share my experience during a very difficult time. Our pets are our family. We become so attached to them that our grief is very real. As the saying goes a dog is mans best friend well I am here to tell you Molly was my best buddy! I got molly at 6 weeks old. She was the one in a litter of 9 pups that chose me. She went every where with me. The first 9 years of her life she went every day to work with me. Needless to say we spent a lot of time together. She would do anything to please me. So in her time of need I stayed by her side. When her time came I did not want to bury her in the backyard and just forget about her. My wife said you know we could have her cremated. That way she could continue to be with you. So we asked around and came upon Helfenbein and Lasting Tributes. From the very first communication you could hear the compassion and the expression of sympathy in the conversation. Throughout the process we were treated with the utmost respect and care. But more important than that Molly was treated like the buddy she was to me! That meant everything to me. She was given the same dignity as if she was a person. I needed that and felt Molly deserved that more than anything. Now she is with me and when I go to be with my Lord and Savior I will take her with me. So when we recently lost our other little buddy it was without hesitation that we contacted Helfenbein again. My wife spoke with Ryan over the phone. Ryan once again was very compassionate with my wife. Expressed great concern for her grief and offered to assist in anyway he could. You see Squirt had a seizure and had not actually passed yet. We felt it was emanate and wanted to get things set up. This was on a Sunday and that evening Ryan actually took time from his evening at home with his family to call and check on our situation. Ryan words do not do justice to all that you did for us during a very difficult time! Your car and compassion and genuine concern was and is 5 star. A very difficult situation made bearable through your companies efforts! Lasting Tributes your the Best!
My parents moved to Maryland after my father's military career, and when their health started declining - I couldn't fathom having their services in Norfolk, where their church is located. The only thing I could think of was having it at a funeral home. My cousin referred me to your business on Bestgate Road. When I met with you guys, the decision was easy for me. I knew I had it right. You had compassion from the start. I remember that I first met with Ryan, who was so caring when going through insurance stuff. And Emily, the care and the patience you showed was just so comforting. There was nothing you wouldn't do for us, and you took care of all of the paperwork! Even with Arlington! Emily, you are one of the best and I hope our paths are NOT through crossing!
