The building is nice and for the most part everyone there is pretty helpful. My biggest complaint about this place is the location and parking. It's a courthouse! Many people will have to come here for many different reasons and for the most part, most of us will drive there. There is never anywhere to park! I've gotten lucky once with paying to park in a small lot but, small is an understatement! That lot was full in about 20 mins. Every other time I've been the lot(s) are always full and you're left driving up and down these narrow streets looking for parking. I can't tell you how many times I've seen folks cars being towed because they've grown frustrated with looking for parking and park at a business or someones property (Even though there are signs posted every where about being towed) So when you do find a spot, you have to check all the signs and be absolutely sure you can park there. If not, I promise you, your car will be gone when you come out. Even though the building is nice and for the most part I've had no issues resolving my issues at the courthouse, getting there and parking is aggravating. I only come here because it's in the county I live in and I'm required to. Otherwise I would be going elsewhere.
It's been such a frustrating process trying to get my divorce process going. I've been told to submit the paperwork, once the documents were "accepted", I would then pay the filing fee. Well, that's incorrect! They won't even look until u mail the check. Not only that, they never specify who to make the check out to. Well, after all that I mail the papers and check back the second time, i saw the check has been cashed, so I assume I'm finally on the right path. Well, i just received the papers back telling me I forgot to sign on document and the defendant didn't sign any papers. It's like the questioner that he is supposed to fill out along with the papers he gets served with are all together, so I assumed that was part of what he gets served with. They really need to make this process easier (detailed explanation) of how to go through the process smoothly. So now they said I have 10 days to submit the documents back. I got the papers yesterday (March 2nd) but the documents are dated/stamped Feb 24th.? So it takes a week to get papers mailed within the same county??
Arrived at 4:06, two people were still there. They said they stop serving people at 4 but are open until 4:30, and they already "sent the money to the bank for the day". We confirmed that my husband would be able to return to do the service (certified copy of foreign, translated marriage certificate) the next day. Husband returned but they asked for a certified copy of translation, even though the document has a translation key on the back. Lazy.
The website has incorrect hours posted. Its not closed at 1pm
I called them to ask them one simple question. And of course, I looked at the website to make sure if there is an answer for my question before I called. But these ladies just rudely connect me to the auto voice message, which just direct me to look at the website. Very unprofessional.
